BIOGRAPHY

Kyla Carter is a New York born SAG/AFTRA, EQUITY actress . Her talent runs deep whether she is acting, singing, dancing or performing on Broadway. Throughout the course of her career, Kyla has won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life. Performing at a variety of venues, making hundreds of appearances on stage and now releasing her own original music, she sings honestly and from the soul combining art, story and song in perfect unison. Kyla has been earning the admiration and affection of fans all over the world and has served as both an inspiration and a role model.

She is currently starring as CJ Suki in the new DreamWorks animated television series TROLLSTOPIA. And, is looking forward to starting another journey with the team from DreamWorks, in the title role of a new animated television series!

Kyla has been seen on the vaudeville stage as Baby June, in the equity production of GYPSY, at the John W. Engeman Theater in Northport, Long Island. Here she won a "ENCORE" award for "BEST CHILD ACTOR on LONG ISLAND."  


Kyla started her professional stage career at age 8 when she was cast in the Broadway National Tour of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three time TONY WINNER, Jack O'Brien.  As part of the original cast, Kyla performed in the principal roles of Gretl, Marta and Brigitta.  She toured 18 months, performed over 500 shows, visited 50 cities and 26 states, without missing one day of work or school on the road!  Kyla continued her Broadway career soon after in the role of Susan Waverly the last two holiday seasons on the Broadway National Tour, IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS, directed by four time TONY NOMINEE, Randy Skinner. 

She recently has enjoyed working on two Broadway bound musicals. As Young Princess Diana in, DIANA,  she worked with Tony Award winning director Christopher Ashley, and David Bryan from Bon Jovi.  As Amy in THE BEDWETTER, Kyla worked with comedian, Sarah Silverman and award winning director Alex Timbers.

Kyla started her professional television career at age 5.  She can be seen on HBO in THE LEFTOVERS, as Young Nora, and on Nickelodeon in WALLYKAZAM! as the voice of Hattie the Witch.
